The Third Gender
Kaleen Rodriguez ENC 1102 Exploratory Essay The Third Gender What is the role of the third gender in South Asia? How does Asian society identify the third gender? I walked into my best friend Joelââ¬â¢s room this morning extremely excited to have lunch with him after a long four months without seeing him and on my journey to his room I picked up a paper that was lying by his door. I picked it up and the title was ââ¬Å"Hijraâ⬠ as I continued to read this paper, it had me very intrigued, fast. It so happens that earlier that week I was talking to my mom about Pride Fest which is a LGBT festival here in South Florida. So, my question arose, how do others across the world view what we recognize as the LGBT community (Gay,Lesbian,Bi-sexual, and Transgender)? , and finding this paper only made my thought more concise, what is ââ¬Å"The Third Genderâ⬠? In the west we have LGBT and we also have drag queens who are men who act as women for a short period of time under certain c ircumstances and it is acceptable. The definition of gender as a performative (Butler) is defined as how you act in your society. Doing research for this topic was significantly easy; finding various points of views was the harder part.Looking through scholarly essays I was able to find ââ¬Å"With Respect to Sex: Negotiating Hijra Identity in South Indiaâ⬠ by Reddy, Gayatri and ââ¬Å"The Hijras of India. â⬠à   by Nanda, Serena. Two of which were my primary resources for what I am about to explain. In South Asia there is LGBT, but what they consider cross dressers, and transvestites are called Hijraââ¬â¢s which generally is considered a third gender role in India. Hijraââ¬â¢s are males who dress and act as females. There are rites of passage for becoming a Hijra. This rite of passage includes the act of removing the genitals and burying them in the ground which basically show theyââ¬â¢re devotement to the Hijra life style, but less than 10% actually commit to eli minating their genitals (Gueste0d1c4). Hijraââ¬â¢s adopt female aspects and behavior. Some Hijraââ¬â¢s are sex workers and some are performers and that is how they earn a living, which causes them to live outside of the city in their own communities. The ones that live in the community and are sex workers live in worse conditions then those who are performers (Reddy, Gayatri ).By performerââ¬â¢s I mean Hijraââ¬â¢s do performances at weddings and festivals. All of their performances are focused and essentially done for Bahuchara Mata (Mother Goddesses), who is worshipped all over India. Mother Goddess is said to have given the Hijraââ¬â¢s a special place in Indian society, so because of this, all Hijraââ¬â¢s devote themselves to her. Overall besides the relationship with the Mother Goddess, the relationship that is most important in the Hijra community is the one with the Guru which is a master/teacher and also a Chela which is a disciple (Gueste0d1c4).Therefore, wh en a person wants join the Hijra community they are taken to a city called Bombay and become acquainted with one of the major Gurus, in total there are seven. (Reddy, Gayatri) Being on the outside looking in. What gives the Hijraââ¬â¢s power also eliminates their power in society because they emasculate themselves to prove theyââ¬â¢re actually Hijraââ¬â¢s, but in that sense they could never be accepted in society because they could never be a man to produce children, which essentially is the role of a man.At times most Hijraââ¬â¢s are maltreated because of this. Hijraââ¬â¢s have rules under their own domain. The most prominent cultural aspect of the Hijra is the asexual description, although many Hijraââ¬â¢s are said to be homosexual (Nanda, Serena). They identify themselves as neither a man nor woman, being perfectly imperfect. As a Hijra, there are many times you might encounter a discourteous crowd and the way they show their response towards this is to lift the ir skirts or dresses and show their maimed genitals (Nanda, Serena).Taking a few moments in my day to question what the Hijraââ¬â¢s really feel do they feel that they are in the wrong body as many trans genderââ¬â¢s claim or do they just wish to be of the opposite sex? I wanted to see Hijraââ¬â¢s what they looked like, their gestures and all. I decided to YouTube a video on them and I was able to find it and many different answers to my question above. It came to my attention that more than half of the Hijraââ¬â¢s documented have been attracted to men from a very young age, or so they say.The first Hijra in this YouTube video began her story by saying that she always admired the woman lifestyle, wearing the gem in the middle of their eyebrows the clothing attire also known as a saree and as she grew up her walk became more feminine and the way she spoke only followed, basically insisting that she was born in the wrong body. Although, the other small percent in this video mostly agreed that as they grew up and were raised as a male, they just wanted to be like a woman but they are clear on the fact that they were or are men (Ambujablue's Channel).Becoming more engaged in the Hijra lifestyle I googled as a form of research and I simply typed in ââ¬Å"Hijra Cultureâ⬠ the first thing that arose was a link to a slide show done in 2007. Here I found the history of Hijraââ¬â¢s regarding the Karma Sutra (an ancient Indian text), which is said to have mentioned a third gender (Gueste0d1c4). This to Hijraââ¬â¢s must mean the world, mostly because it somewhat proves that theyââ¬â¢re not just getting the transgender idea from the western culture, but that it has existed in the Indian culture long before.Being a Hijra was said to be a disturbing view to the South Asian society, but after India gained their independence the anti-Hijra law was removed. In many different places where I tried to find a statistic of how many Hijras there are, I could not find an accurate number but there is said to be somewhere between 50,000 to 500,000 Hijras in South Asia (Gueste0d1c4). There are two significant theoryââ¬â¢s about Hijraââ¬â¢s, one is that every Hijraââ¬â¢s starts as a sex worker, then performer. The second theory is that they are always separate, either a sex worker or a performer never both.Rules only exist within their society, and once outside of the Hijra community these rules donââ¬â¢t exist; they are simply seen as a transgender person. The Hijraââ¬â¢s are very prone to being infected with HIV/AIDS because of being sex workers. Truth be told, that is how they make a living even though their living is not anywhere near a good standing. It is very difficult for a Hijra to be invited to perform in a wedding or a childââ¬â¢s birth, so being sex workers is their best option. Hijraââ¬â¢s are not only maltreated emotionally but also physically. Those who are completely against the Hijra culture abuse them, b rutally. They beat them in their own homes, along the streets, in markets, even in police stations (Gueste0d1c4). Knowing this reminds me that this is something most transgender societies have in common, they are abused mostly verbally on the Western side but the physical abuse is still taking action. As I continued my research I attempted to find various points of view on the Hijra, little did I realize there are really only three; for, against, or nonchalant.I thought to myself well, most people in the Western society have altered their point of view to for or nonchalant on the transgender topic and are disclosing being against it. Meanwhile, maybe not as rapid but slowly, those on the other side of the world are adapting to this view or ââ¬Å"Third Genderâ⬠ as well. What I did as another form of research was conduct a survey in order to get a general outlook on what others believe or think about the Hijra. I surveyed a total of twenty people. Ten of which were my family and friends and ten who were complete strangers. The response I generally received was ââ¬Å"whatever makes them happyâ⬠ basically proving that the outlook is shifting drastically in comparison to a few years prior. I only received three responses out of twenty that were completely against the Hijra, and I also realized that those three people were all around the same age range which was 57-62. I believe that says something only because it is common that the older generations in our society are more likely to be against this ââ¬Å"newâ⬠ LGBT ââ¬Å"trendâ⬠ as they say. Only enforcing that as the generations increase it is becoming more accepted. All of this research has shown me that there is more to being a Hijra then what many of us know or think we know. It is something one must truly want and it is a decision you have to stick with no matter how challenging times may get. Works Cited: Ambujablue's Channel, . ââ¬Å"Documentary . â⬠ Youtube . Pollution in Vietnam
HANOIââ¬âAs Vietnam's economy has boomed in recent decades, so too have pollution levels in its major cities, with experts concerned that air pollution could pose a major public health concern. ââ¬Å"Environmental pollution in Vietnam is a real problem,â⬠ said Tuong Lai, former dean of Vietnam's Social Science Institute. ââ¬Å"It's not just foreign visitors who have complained about our dust pollutionââ¬âpeople in our country are also very dissatisfied with it,â⬠ he said.A study conducted by employment consultants ORC Worldwide put economic boomtowns Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi on a list of the 20 worst cities in the world in which to live and work, for environmental reasons. Air pollution was cited as a key factor for both Ho Chi Minh City, which was the ninth worst place to live, and Hanoi, which was ranked 11th worst. A 2008 environmental report by the World Bank ranked the two cities as the worst in Vietnam for pollution, while an environmental study by 400 int ernational scientists in the same year said Hanoi and Saigon were the worst-ranked cities for dust pollution in the whole of Asia.Expert warning And experts at a Southeast Asia air pollution seminar hosted by the Industrial Institute of Asia warned that air pollution in Vietnam had reached dangerous levels. In 2007, Vietnam started to publish results of its own surveys, with an Environmental Protection Bureau report officially recognizing in 2007 that dust pollution was a serious problem in Vietnam. Vietnamese residents of the worst-ranked cities were well aware of the heath effects, and of the effect on tourism revenues. The atmosphere in this country is now seriously polluted, yet the government has not found any solutions,â⬠ one Hanoi resident said. ââ¬Å"The air pollution in Saigon and Hanoi has annoyed not only the people in the country, but also the Vietnamese who come back to Vietnam as visitors,â⬠ he said. ââ¬Å"It has disappointed so many foreign tourists, too. â⬠ Thousands of deaths Health authorities say that thousands of cases of death or illness have been confirmed as having been caused by atmospheric pollution with carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, benzene, and fine particulates (dust). In 2007 the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that an average of 16,000 deaths a year in Vietnam are now caused by air pollution, with thousands of people now confirmed to be suffering from pulmonary disease. Environmental studies blame fuel emissions from public transportation and industrial pollution from factories. Pressure is now growing on Hanoi from international as well as domestic environment specialists to step up controls on industrial pollution and clarify the responsibilities of the various government agencies involved in environmental protection.Calls are emerging in domestic media for the government to enforce a switch to cleaner fuels, and to punish or penalize anyone causing environment pollution. ââ¬Å"Pollution greatly affe cts the health of our people,â⬠ Tuong Lai said. ââ¬Å"Therefore the government must make multiple efforts to make a healthy living environment for the people who crowd such big cities as Saigon [Ho Chi Minh City] and Hanoi,â⬠ he added.

Much Ado about nothing Reflection
ch Ado About Nothing Reflection In our grade ten English class we studied the book Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. I found this book interesting to read because it was different from any other Shakespeare book I had ever read. Before this play I had only learned about tragedies but some of the parts of this play that I understood I found funny. I found this book very interesting because it was easy to follow and many lessons to be learned. In this play there are many things to be learned from it even though it is from over 400 years ago.The language that this play is written in is sometimes hard to understand but with some reading over and careful thought, I understood. I think that because of the time that it was written in, the language is suitable for circumstances that happen in this play. The language in the 21st century has dramatically changed since the time of Shakespeare. I think the value of learning about this old play is to gain an understanding of the lang uage and time of these people. This play was written in a time where women and men did not always choose who they got married to.Women did not have the same rights as men in the shakespearian time, therefore most women had arranged marriages. Men were allowed to do whatever they please, but women were expected to be put together all of the time. A family's reputation could be ruined by the action of one daughter, sister ect. In todayââ¬â¢s society people do things that wouldnââ¬â¢t even be imaginable back then. We are surrounded by a society telling us that chastity is not important, that is something you would never hear of in the Shakespearean time. While read the play, Much Ado About Nothing, the importance of a foil character became clear. While Hero and Claudio seem to be the main characters, Benedick and Beatrice mirror there love story. They seem to go through the same types of conflict and in the end everything is resolved. Also while reading this play, the theme of mar riage as a form of entrapment for women becomes visible. Hero, being the only daughter of Leonato, would be able to inherit her fatherââ¬â¢s possessions if she married. Also marrying into a higher status was very traditional. By Hero marrying Claudio his status would be raised. This play, Much Ado About Nothing, is classified as a comedy.I believe that this is a comedy because of the the numerous jokes, lacking of deaths, and the marriage. A classic Shakespearean comedy consists of a conflict being resolved and a marriage. In this case it was a double wedding, Hero and Claudioââ¬â¢s and Beatrice and Benedickââ¬â¢s. The theme of our year, healing broken relationships, fits well with this play. After Claudio accuses Hero of being of unfaithful, Hero and her family must forgive Claudio for his false accusation. Leonato does forgive him and gives Hero to be his wife. There is a happy marriage at the end of the play and all relationships were healed.
Scanning Electron Microscopy Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Scanning Electron Microscopy - Coursework Example Secondary Electron images (SE) Vs. Backscattered Electron images (BSE)Secondary electron images are formed from the low energy electrons that are formed near the surface of the sample (Johnson). The brightness is affected by the surface topology of the specimen. For backscattered electron images, higher energy electrons formed deeper in the material are used to form the image. The result of these images is less contrast due to surface topology and more contrast due to different chemical composition (Johnson). This explains the 3D nature of the SE image in comparison to the flat BSE image, and the higher contrast of the BSE image in comparison to the SE image.Secondary electrons have lower energy compared to backscattered electrons, and so, they interact with the outer regions of the specimen by inelastic collisions. Therefore, only the surface topology of the specimen is clearly defined. This is the reason why the fibers in the SE looked clumped. The contrast in the BSE image is becau se of the production of backscatter electrons produced due to collisions of high energy electrons of the specimen. Parts of the specimen with higher atomic number cause higher backscatter than the lighter atomic number elements, resulting in a greater contrast, enabling a better study of the chemical composition of the specimen. The greater edge highlight in the SE image is because raised surfaces yield more secondary electrons.... The greater edge highlight in the SE image is because raised surfaces yield more secondary electrons. Images of a tilted TEM grid are provided showing a large difference in depth of field (file names DOF 1, 2, 3). 3 Calculate the depth of field from the images provided. Explain how you arrived at your answer. Compare SEM figures with the depth of field that would be available from an optical microscope for the same magnification. Large depth of field is one of the most important characteristics of SEM. The sharpness of the images recorded at low magnifications depends more on depth of field available than on small beam size (Lyman 1990). We know that depth of field, Where, d = minimum resolution of SEM W = Working distance D = aperture size Accordingly, the depth of field from the given images is computed as follows: Taking the following assumptions, d = minimum resolution of SEM= 3.5 nm = 3.5 ?10-9 m W = Working distance = as given in image in mm ?10-3 m D = aperture size= 200?m = 2 00?10-6 m Depth of field for first image with WD=13.0 mm= 13.0?10-3 m = 0.455?10-6 m = 4.55?10-7 m Depth of field for second image with WD=14.3 mm= 14.3?10-3 m =0.5005?10-6 m = 5?10-7 m Depth of field for second image with WD=44.3 mm= 44.3?10-3 m =1.55?10-6 m Comparison of SEM figures with the depth of field that would be available from an optical microscope for the same magnification The depth of field of SEM can be as great as 300 times that of the optical microscope. At low magnifications, below 300 to 400X, the image formed by the SEM is inferior to that of the optical microscope (Abbaschian et al 2008). At the same magnification, the depth of field that would be

MrsFields case study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
MrsFields - Case Study Example LPB was a large company; their formulations of baking from the frozen dough the croissants, bread, hot soups and sandwiches, taken from Fields extended cookies business, had a different style. Technological processes at Fields were not changed to make adjustment with the working of LPB. Fields wanted to get the benefit of their in-practice MIS system, which was not customized to assimilate the management functions of LPB like Fields had done when it acquired Chocolate Chip Company, and made changes in the MIS system. Fields assumed that that it would be able to benefit from its current MIS system for adapting different overhead functions of PBS. Working in a totally different management hierarchy would not have been easy particularly when no job orientation was given. Things could have gone haphazard without any staff reporting to the senior level, affecting performance in all segments of the organization. As per Randyââ¬â¢s statement, the organizational structure at LPB was not similar to the functioning at Fields who has been using IT to manage business functions across the globe efficiently. The impact of discharging 50 human resources from their duties of the acquired company and without providing the training of the work processes of the new organization structure, I would have felt crippled as a manager. Reporting of store managers at Fields was straight to all senior and middle level managers culminating in final reporting to Debbie and Randy. The change for the store managerââ¬â¢s rank was sudden from a traditional way of functioning to remaining available for seamless exchange of information horizontally and vertically on the vast communication network. Chances of failure had been more than success as store manager. In my opinion, it would be wrong to say that business at LPB was same in kind as it was at Fields in different aspects like products, customers, and business challenges. Although bakery was the major business at LPB but it offered other

Fossil Group, Inc Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Fossil Group, Inc - Essay Example These include brands such as Superman, Elvis Presley, Snoopy, Wonder Woman, Chronicles of Narnia, The Matrix and Star Wars. This paper outlines the inventory policies and items that Fossil Group Inc. adopts in their operations and offers in the market respectively. Apart from selling products directly to consumers through commercial websites and retail stores, Fossil owns a global distribution network that includes wholesale outlets in countries where the company has a physical presence. In countries that it does not have a physical presence, the company maintains third-party networks that facilitate the marketing and distribution of its products. Fossilsââ¬â¢ inventory policy is primarily based on the average cost of production, which includes related freight charges and applicable duty. Inventory that is unmarketable or obsolete is determined by the difference between market value estimates and the approximate costs of inventory. Such estimates are based on assumptions regarding future demand, available channels for liquidation and prevailing market conditions. Additional reductions in inventory are thereby inevitable in the event that market conditions and future product demand are regarded by management to be less favorable than what had been projected. Reductions in inventory are also inevitable if the management determines that channels for liquidation are insufficient. The companyââ¬â¢s success in inventory management is hence largely attributed to continuous assessment of off-price sales and regular updates of inventory estimates. Revenue from sales of products likely to be subjected to agreements in inventory consignment is often determined at the point where title and risk of loss has been transferred, products have successfully been delivered, buying price at the end of the chain can easily be determined, and there is reasonable assurance in collectability of the product. In the event that inventory is

How Has Professional Learning Changed and Why - Essay Example It is very important to change the professional learning pattern with the passage of time to compete in the challenging world. In other words, learning is no more just a word; it is associated with real life experiences, case studies and practical exposure which improve the process of learning. Professional learning has transcended beyond the traditional learning processes of merely classroom learning and in recent times the aspect professional community has taken a centre stage. Professional learning community provides an opportunity to augment staff development related approach (SEDL, 2012). The objective of this paper is to explore professional development for New Times and to put light on the area of professional learning, its changing patterns and the reasons for its changing pattern. There are various issues, contradictions and dilemmas which would be considered while attaining the objective of the essay. The Issues In HERDSA International Conference, there will be many issues discussed regarding the learning process. The conference will be held mainly to focus on creating and maintaining peer connections, for establishing community links, enriching the interdisciplinary connections, linking the students for success and connecting them with research. The main subject matter of HERDSA International Conference is connections in Higher Education, which is one of the important fundamentals for professional learning. In has been observed that higher education has altered significantly in recent times with relevant changes in policies, leadership, research approach and student outcomes that are followed to make the education process more pertinent to Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Certain steps that are followed in altered process of higher education include sustaining as well as creating peer connections, emphasizing on community based connections in learning and focusing on interdisciplinary connections among others. Therefore, in order to as sess the significance of these issues further in professional learning the conference is conducted specially for leaders, researchers, students, policy makers and teachers who are associated in higher education sector (Conference Design Pty Ltd, 2012). Professional learning process engages the professional development for the enhancement of skills and knowledge. The ââ¬ËAustralian Flexible Learning Frameworkââ¬â¢ has made a commitment towards for maintaining and developing vocational education along with training for the professionals. The endeavor behind this is to keep on side by side with changing technological approach in the field of professional learning. The framework has been prepared keeping in consideration the ongoing and upcoming developments in the resources, research along with ideas. Comparing the 1962 Version of The Manchurian Candidate with the 2004 Essay
Comparing the 1962 Version of The Manchurian Candidate with the 2004 version - Essay Example The movie-making industry is inseparable from the political and historical conditions, in which it operates. Even fantastic movies and horrors cannot escape the dramatic influence of historical and political realities. The Manchurian Candidate was first created in 1962. Featuring Frank Sinatra, the movie was a compound product of multiple historical, social, and technical influences. The fear of Communism, the rapid spread of McCarthyism, and the Cold War altogether contributed to the development of a sophisticated vision of war, which, taking place thousands of miles from the American continent, profoundly alters the American political landscape. On the social background, an evolutionary nature of a social role a woman plays in the society is evident. At first, in the version of 1962 year, the main character was a manipulative woman, but there was no essential political influence of this heroine. In the version of 2004 year, this character becomes a Senator. Therefore, it is clearly seen that social factor has contributed greatly to the social accents set in the new version of the film. Moreover, there is a lack of sensual transfer of intimate relations between the main characters. Thus, for example, Lansburyââ¬â¢s character kissing Shaw inspires the audience and creates a romantic atmosphere. In the modern version there is no such kind of a romantic aura between the characters. Political Differences-The concept of ââ¬Å"fearâ⬠ is integrative for both films. Two great powerful machines that are consuming contemporaries are presented with the same powerful manner: in the first version of the film there is an atmosphere of fear in the face of communism and in the second film the characters are afraid of being absorbed by a powerful corporate machine. Therefore, it is evident that historical events and periods of filmsââ¬â¢ creation influenced the main conceptual framework of both film versions. The influential and powerful factor of fear in the face of communism (in 1962 version) was substituted by another fear factor in the version of 2004. Another political factor that is rather controversial in the modern version is the way assassination is represented. A great emphasis is made on a ââ¬Å"programmed natureâ⬠ of assassinatorââ¬â¢s mind. At this point we can see an intricate interconnection between political and technological factors. This i nterpretation of assassination is justified in the modern version as it is strongly backed up by the modern technological developments. Moreover, another explanation is provided. The matter of natural/unnatural changes of human behavior is explained in terms of technological advancements or as a result of mental disorders. This directorââ¬â¢s intention can be interpreted in the following way: whether modern technologies are able to re-program human mind or not, the latter would be either way perverted by his own psycho. The Manchurian Candidate (1962) is probably one of the brightest and memorable products of the American moviemaking industry. Featuring Frank Sinatra, The Manchurian Candidate is a movie, where ââ¬Å"the stepson of a presidential candidate turns out to have been a prisoner of war who underwent interrogation at the hands of Chinese communistsâ⬠ (Delgado 23). The soldier is brainwashed and programmed to assassin a Presidential Candidate.

Week 6 class discussions Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Week 6 class discussions - Assignment Example Watermarking communication usually takes place in a one-to-many communication system while steganography communication takes place in a point-to-point communication. Both stenography and watermarking hide the content and existence of the message while cryptography hides the content but not the existence of the message, they are therefore mutually exclusive (Stefan & Fabien, 2000). Watermarking, cryptography, and stenography aim at securing messages from attackers. The benefits of ADS outweigh the risks as files can be hidden on an NTFS hard disk in a way that is difficult to detect as long as there are proper security features to handle them and system administrators are aware of the streams. If Microsoft discontinues support of ADS in future versions of its operating system, the forensic industry would suffer a big blow as it would not be able to find most of the copies of some work for its forensic investigations. This is because streams are retained if a file is copied with ADS to another NTFS, which is very important for forensics. The most significant obstacle to successful backing up data and/or recovering data for forensic investigators is lack of cooperation from the management (Wiles & Rogers, 2007). The management is responsible at providing funds and direction regarding backing up and recovering of data. However, due to many computer malpractices many managers get involved into, they fear that they might be caught one day when a forensic investigation is done and therefore might not fully cooperate in regard to backing up and recovering done for forensic purposes. Forensic investigation is normally done to unearth the vices done in an organization. The results of forensic investigation are normally taken to law courts for legal actions to be taken. In the event that a system forensic is to be done, many people in the case normally do the much they can to destroy evidence in the computers. They do this through destroying computer systems, deleting

Pakistan lack of energy and water leads to mass terrorist operation - Research Paper Example The textile industries, trade and other sectors are at rock bottom in terms of their performances. This is all due to the variables stated above, hence the dependent variables. These variables have a direct impact on the economy of the state and the present day economy stands in a crippled state courtesy the deviances and discrepancies that are on show. People are taking up the unwarranted professions, resorting to means other than the state sanctioned. The ultimate yield of these deprivations is the outcome in form of exploitation and terrorist activities(Malik, I). These can be expressed in form of equation with one side demonstrating the donââ¬â¢t haves while the other side showing the possible repercussions in form of agitation, mental agony, restless, potential popular uprisings and various other factors. Lack of political wisdom, absence of creative mindset and future policies devising are all few of the factors that can be termed as the hypothesis towards the menace that is showing up in form of terrorist operations. envirocivil (2013)à  Climate Change, Governance and Energy Discourse in Pakistan. Homeschool vs Public School Essay Example for Free
Homeschool vs Public School Essay The recent growth, popularity, and success of homeschool have left many parents wondering if public school is the right choice for their children. While public school is still the most trusted and convenient way for parents to have their children educated, many parents are starting to research and learn more about the option of homeschooling. For many parents, it is hard to think outside the box, when it comes to their childrenââ¬â¢s education, yet, more parents are convinced every day that this may be the right choice for their children. Parents considering homeschool are worried that they might not be able to provide the proper education, and learning tools, as well as the structure of public school. Others are simply worried that their publicly educated children will not be as well rounded or socialized if they are homeschooled. For many advocates, whether home school or public school, the environment offered by withers situation is definitely a determining factor as to whether their child should be home or publicly schooled. Proponents of homeschool think that children will thrive better in a safe, comfortable, familiar environment. Ironically, so do public school advocates. Homeschool parents believe that home is the safest, most secure environment for their children to learn. A decade ago a homeschooled teen had to miss out on school dances, band, sports, driverââ¬â¢s education and more. This is no longer the case. The options are endless depending on your local school district. Most junior and high schools support dual enrollment. This means that a child can be homeschooled and still go to the school for subject that the student along with the parents decides. This can be math, wood working, computer technology, and many more things. If the child is enrolled they are entitled to most if not all of the extracurricular activities that the school offers. In a home school setting, a child does not have to deal with fitting in, peer pressure, or cliques. Homeschool parents will argue that by homeschooling they prevent most of the negative social problems of school. Many argue that school is not like real life. In the real world you do get to choose who you associate with for the most part. You are not shoved into a room of your same age peers for 12 years or more. In public schools children are forced to deal with persecution because of the clothes they wear may not be the coolest, or their shoes may not be a brand name. Children are forced to deal with peer pressures to have sex, experiment with drugs, or truancy. Homeschool children are able to focus solely on their education. They are usually able to work at their own pace in their own style. While publicly schooled children are forced into a strict schedule, and everything is on a timed basis. Public school advocates argue that public school teaches the child to separate themselves from their parents, and begin to rely on themselves more. That it teaches responsibility. They also believe that the natural interaction between children in school is healthy, and it teaches them character, and individuality. As a matter of fact, many public school supporters believe that actual book learning is not as important as learning how to deal with others. Only you can decide which is more important for your child. Along with everything else, parents and their children have to consider the curriculum, and is this right for the individual circumstance. How your child learns is a major factor in determining if your child should be in public school or homeschooled. Most children learn the same basic skills whether they are public, or homeschooled. They learn to read, write, and basic math. Both sides agree that this is a good foundation. However, it is beyond the basics that the two types of schooling differ, and the argument begins. Homeschooled children tend to learn through individual experience. Regular public school children learn through relationships, and according to studies, thatââ¬â¢s what builds character in a child. [www. publicschools. org]. this is clearly a huge argument in the war of Homeschool versus public school. Homeschool parents are able to choose the focus of their childââ¬â¢s education. Whether it is based on their religion and beliefs, or the childââ¬â¢s natural curiosity. This does not mean that a child is homeschooled based solely on religion or because they are religious. It simply gives parents an option to have religion incorporated in their childrenââ¬â¢s schooling. More parents said that they chose to homeschool a child in order to offer religious or moral instruction. This reason was given more than any other reason as the most important for homeschooling. This accounts for 36 percent of homeschooled students [The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) of the U. S.à  Department of Education (USDOE) Institute of Education Sciences (IES)]. Public schools have eliminated religion because the government feels that it may offend someone if we pray a certain prayer that a student with a different religion may not. So, they decided to separate church and state. This means that there are no more prayers in public schools or their events. There are ââ¬Å"moments of silenceâ⬠. Thus, many homeschool parents incorporate it into their lessons. Public school bases their curriculum on state based lesson, which aim to make the students reach and hopefully surpass their goals. This curriculum is constantly changing with the times. A drawback of public education curriculum is that there is not a lot of time to spend in depth on one particular subject, but students are exposed to a broad spectrum of subjects. Every parent is a teacher [www. phdinparenting. com]. Whether they realize it or not. From day one we teach our children, and never stop. It is the argument of homeschool advocates that if we can teach them life skills and basically everything they learn from day one, then why canââ¬â¢t we educate our children? Public school advocates argue that the difference is the time a teacher has spent learning methods and perfecting the art of educating a child. Homeschooled parents are concerned that their children are not having enough one on one time with teachers. They are concerned that the teacher to student ratio is out of control. The norm in public school is 31 students to 1 teacher. Most classes are 30 to 45 minutes in length. After roll call, going over the daily lesson, passing up homework, etc. , there is less than 1 minute available for each student to communicate with the teacher. Homeschool advocates are concerned that sometimes this means that the quality of education a child gets in public school is not as good as that of homeschool. Many students believe that the education they are getting is quite adequate. They are sure that half the things they learn in class they will not need in ââ¬Å"real lifeâ⬠ anyway. They assume the free ride through college from their high school football career will get them everything they need in life. Children who have this belief are sorely mistaken. If they are not equipped with the communication skills, and life skills, as well taught esponsibility then why have the great football career? They will have no idea how to negotiate terms, negotiate contracts, or how to properly spend and invest their income. These are all vital things that a child needs to be taught. Homeschool parents believe that they can instill in their children all of those things. No extracurricular activities for homeschoolers, you say? Wrong!! There are programs that allow homeschool children to take some of their classes in a private school type setting to allow them to play on the local high school football team. As long as their grades and transcripts are all in order, they can be just as successful and get scholarships just as a public school student. We, as parents have to make our own decisions about how our children are educated. Whether they are public or home schooled, we have to ensure that our children are getting the best possible education, in the best environment, by the best teachers. It is not our job to be sure that they are the most popular, or the class favorite. It is our job to make sure that they are educated, moral, responsible, well rounded individuals no matter the method by which they are educated.

Moving From Colleague To Supervisor
Moving From Colleague To Supervisor 1. Managers can use the wrong type of leadership because each team must use the appropriate strategy for management and leadership, which will create the most favorable conditions of the collective work. I think that in this situation the companies have poor socio-psychological climate. So, the relations with colleges and socio-psychological factors are the most important for the selecting of leadership style. However, exactly this area of management, which is linked to managers relationship with his subordinates, plays a key position in terms of the success of the head as a whole. No matter how talented and hard-working boss is, but if his efforts are not supported by his subordinates a result is unlikely to be particularly successful. It is evident that each manager chooses the style that best suits him for a specific company, and under his personality type. But here are some important tips that can be taken into account: the leader must understand that the company as a single organism. It lives according to certain laws both the general business laws, as well as their own, which exist only inside the company. It is therefore important to feel the unity of the company, and in accordance with this pick a style guide, which will be the most harmonious. In our case of Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee, who were promoted into management positions , the leaders must take into account the psychology of people who work with the leaders and remember that first of all people do the business! Any new leader faces with the question: what kind of management style to choose? There are different types of management: soft, hard, democratic or totalitarian. It is vitally important for the manager to choose the appropriate method of leadership in the particular company, taking into consideration the specific of the company and its team of employees. If the manager can not choose the style of company management, it means that he does not possess the necessary knowledge in the field of managing people. Such a person may be the best employee, but does not know the psychology of management and psychology of team leadership. Then the person can not become a member of the team and become its leader. In such a case a person must pass training on the management of company and personal effectiveness. Some assistance can provide the model F. Fiedler, that help to choose the management style. There are different leaders: the head who is task oriented, and the head who is focused on interpersonal relations. Using special tools installed, future manager can decide what type of leader he belongs to. This and other training and techniques can help to select the desired style of management, and follow it. (Bennis, W 1998) 3. Leadership is an art, it requires professionalism, intelligence and specific skills. There are such types as authoritarian style, democratic, passive and individualized. It is clear that each manager chooses the style that best suits him for a specific company, and under your personality type. But here are some important tips that can be taken into account: The leader must understand that the company is as a single organism, it lives according to certain laws both the general business laws, as well as their own, which exist only inside the company. It is therefore important to feel the unity of the company, and in accordance with this pick a style guide, which will be the most harmonious. It is important to remember that nothing stands still, everything is moving and changing. The head also should not stand still, he should grow up, get additional education, constantly learn new things and innovate in the company. Then it will keep pace with rapidly changing times and avoid stagnation. Therefore, the selected style guide should take into account the need for changes in the company. Consider the psychology of people who work with the leader. Remember that business is people first, and only then technology. Therefore, for any manager its important to pick a team that everyone was not only in its place, but also successfully coped with their responsibilities and was able to more effectively reach their potential, because it depends on the success of the company. (Tittemore 2003) So, I must conclude that when selecting the style of leadership, future leaders must take into account the psychological features of the team. Ã  In the companies where work Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee there is some conspiracy, when people are polite, but there is no sincere relationship, people hide their views. In such a team leader Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee does not know how to resolve conflicts, reach consensus not developed loyalty to the staff team and the manager. Teams do not have mutual understanding and trust between employees, which means integrity and honesty with concern for the good of everyone. Therefore, I think that when choosing the leadership style, managers first need to find common goals: To achieve personal understanding;Ã     Seek opportunities for regular joint problem-solving; To establish trust between employees and teams. (Adams and Shields, 1994) If to consider the current cases of Chery Kahn, Rob Carstons, and Linda McGee, who were promoted into management positions, I think they need to select a democratic style of governance, which is characterized by the distribution of authority, initiative and responsibility between the manager and deputy, the leader and subordinates. are the main characteristics of the style: manager always seeks the views of staff on important industrial issues, but takes decisions as a body; communication with subordinates is in the form of requests, suggestions, recommendations, advice, rewards for quality and operational work, friendly and polite, if necessary apply orders; the head tries to stimulate a favorable psychological climate in the team, defends the interests of subordinates. (Tittemore 2003) I think that this management style will help managers to improve relations in the team and become good leaders. 4. Promotion of employees to leadership position as well as a new outsider leader can be important news in the company, and always a change in the team. The staff and employees may not always well react on promotions of colleagues. In such a situation it becomes difficult to establish relationships between employees and the new leader. But if the new manager came from another company, it is even harder to become a leader, because he does not know the team, does not know the rules of the company and its climate. He needs to learn everything and adapt to new conditions, and choose a style of leadership. So I believe that promotion within the company is more successful. First of all, the new head already knows his subordinates, he knows the psychological climate of the company. In this situation, head should better choose a democratic style of management, and to remain on friendly terms with the team, but do not become an authoritarian leader, that may spoil relations with the colleges.

Are Electric Cars the Future of Transportation?
Are Electric Cars the Future of Transportation? To boost the research and purchases of electric cars to reduce future pollution of the environment, manufacturers and consumers would benefit from subsidies and incentives from the government. This could provide a more economical and environmental friendly means of transportation in the future that would help in protecting the environment. There is the debate on the research and development of a more efficient electric car would produce more pollution by means of manufacturing. The long term gain in managing to produce an electric car that does short distance travel as well as long distance could mean less pollution as the technology advances to make on that is more efficient than todayââ¬â¢s version of electric cars. As children from the 1960s to the 1980s, we watched The Jetsonââ¬â¢s with the idea that one day the future would be very much like life living there. Flying cars, robot maids, instant full meals, and also traveling around with jet packs. Life seemingly made much easier with the use of technology. So far today, transportation has progressed in technology from horse drawn carriages to gasoline powered cars and now on to the way of electric cars. There has been an effort in trying to lower the effects of pollution from the technology of standard cars in the last few years. Cars have been manufactured for years, however, in the early years there was not a cause for concern with the environment. The main reason being the amount of cars on the road were not as many due to that many people could not afford one since it was considered a luxury. Over the years, cars became more affordable. Families were able to afford more than one car and soon became multi car families. With the addition of more cars being manufactured and running on the road, the emissions being produced have increased creating pollution that is causing many issues. With the current technology, manufacturers are attempting to find ways to make electric cars that are more affordable, reliable, and efficient. Once electric cars are more readily affordable, became able to travel long distances, and the installation of charging stations, the emissions would decrease and the environment would being to improve from the lack of pollution. There are a few advantages to electric cars. The first is dependency on fossil fuels by standard cars would be gone, which would reduce the costs of fuels if one purchased a hybrid of an electric and fuel cross type of car. If one purchased a fully electric car, then the fuel costs would be completely cut and thus saving money by having no fuel expenses. This would mean either a substantial decrease or complete cut in fuel costs with either type of car given the current rising costs in fuels. The other advantage over changing from a standard car to an electric one is that if there was a complete switch to an all-electric or a plug-in extended car, the nation would save 15 billion gallons of gasoline each year. (Pasadena Star-News, 2013). Thus reducing the costs for gasoline for both the nation as well as consumers. Maintenance is another issue with both standard and electric cars. There is a cost difference between the two. The advantage with electric cars are that a lot of mechanics observe that even though electric car engines still have moving parts, the maintenances is way easier, faster and cheaper (PR Newswire US, 2014). With an electric car, the rides should be quieter and smoother than a standard one. Thereââ¬â¢s a $7,500 federal tax credit for buyers of plug-in electric vehicles, and there are incentives for building charging stations and battery plants. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram, 2013) With federal and state tax credits, some models of electric cars are arguably competitive with standard mid-line economy cars. The cost of a Nissan Leaf, is listed for $30,000 to $31,000 at the Boulder Nissan dealership, will drop to $17,500 to $18,500 after federal and state credits. (The Denver Post, 2013) Tax credits, subsidies, fuel, maintenance, no emissions, and reliability are just to name a few more of the advantages to owning an electric car. The idea that being able to cut costs towards fuel purchases and maintenance is appealing when faced with the rising costs of both as well as the credits to lower the initial purchase cost. Battery, plug-in hybrids, hybrids, and hydrogen fuel-cell cars are the four types of electric cars currently in development. Battery electric cars have electric motors and battery packs with no other means of propulsion. The distances is usually about 100 miles. Plug-in hybrids act like an electric car from the first 15 to 50 miles, then can be switched over to a onboard internal-combustion engine that acts as a generator. Hybrids either use an electric motor as assists for the gas engine, or allow short bursts of electric-only driving. The hydrogen fuel-cell cars has a fuel cell that produces electricity from hydrogen which replaces the battery pack (Motavalli, 2012). While these are the current standards with these types of electric cars, the improvement in technology will change those over time. Environmental advantages with the electric car versus a standard one is that an electric car does not emit any emissions. A standard car emits pollutants from by the way they are powered. The way a standard car works is by combusting fuel, which in turn creates carbon dioxide that cannot be minimized through the use of emissions-control devices (Kliesch, 2011). A full electric car does not require any fuel, which in turn would not emit any emissions to create pollution. While there are many advantages to owning an electric car, there are disadvantages as well. One is the currently the way electricity is used to charge one is produced. Depending on the source of electricity generated will determine the amount of pollution. There are several different sources used in how electricity is generated. There are renewable sources, such as solar, wind and hydropower. Then there is the natural gas, coal-fired and nuclear plants. While the renewable sources would mean for the electric car to be manufactured by no pollution effects to the environment. The next in line for least amount of pollution is the natural gas plants, while coal-fired is the worst to emit high levels of carbon dioxide as well as particulate matter. Nuclear plants, while not a threat from global warming or smog-forming pollution standpoint, pose the dangerous threats of nuclear disasters and nuclear proliferation (Kliesch, 2011). Renewable sources are still being incorporated into the curr ent technology and life styles. While there is quite a few different types of pollution, a car produces 3 different types. The types produced from cars are categorized as ââ¬â in-use, upstream and vehicle-manufacturing emissions. The definition of in-use is when a person is actually driving the car. While upstream emissions result from the production and transportation the fuel a car uses to where it is used. The third manufacturing-related emissions, accounts for about 10 to 20 percent of a vehicleââ¬â¢s lifetime greenhouse output (Kliesch, 2011). To be fair, that is only a portion of what contributes to pollution on a large scale. Those are what accounts for a standard carââ¬â¢s emissions. The electric car produces no in-use emissions, but they do have upstream emissions from where the electricity is produced in order to charge the battery. If one looks at the amount of pollution emitted by a standard car versus an electric one, it can be seen as to how much of a difference there is. A difference that is also affected by the location the car is driven in. If one lived in California and had an electric car, driving 12,000 miles in a year would emit about 1.6 tons of carbon dioxide. However, by contrast a hybrid would emit about 2.9 tons and a 25 mile per hour car would emit about 5.9 tons (Kliesch, 2011). Being that California has the most advantage with the cleaner of electricity produced, it would be a huge impact on reducing pollution by changing from a standard car to an electric one. The reason the government should be offering incentives and subsidies to the consumer as well as manufacturers are to help in reducing the dependency upon petroleum-based fuels. By investing into cleaner energies and cleaner cars, the impact of pollution caused by those would help the environment over a period of time. As the population that inhabits the Earth, this is the only planet able to sustain human life and needs to be protected for future generations to live here. In time there will be too much pollution that will cause many more health issues and possibly make the Earth unlivable in the future. With purchasing an electric car, one would have an immediate change in fuel costs. It would depend on the type of car purchased. If it were an all-electric car, then fuel costs would be eliminated. With a hybrid type, the amount of fuel purchases would possibly be cut up to half or perhaps more. To put it to numbers, drivers may ultimately compare fuel efficiency by how much it would cost to purchase fuel versus cost to charge with electricity. If gas costs $3 per gallon and typical mileage is 25 miles per gallon, it will take 4 gallons of gas to go 100 miles, at a total cost of $12. The per-mile cost is one hundredth of that, or 12 cents per mile. For the Prius, at 50 miles per gallon, fueling costs are half that: 6 cents per miles (PR, N, 2014). This is a considerable difference in cost per mile for standard car versus an electric car. As long as technology improves in different areas, then the advantages will outweigh the disadvantages on owning an electric car. The current means of manufacturing and ways to recharge an electric car to be improved to reduce the level of pollution side effects on the environment as well as lower the costs to purchase an electric car. The improvements with an electric car being able to travel further distances by improving the battery capacity and then implementing of charging stations much like gas stations. While those improvements are being made with electric cars, the technology for current production of electricity will be improved upon as well. This will reduce the pollution created from not only standard cars, but as well as the general usage by homes and businesses. This will bring forth protecting the population to being able to live in a healthier, better breathing environment much like in the days prior to the invention of cars. With the ground work in place for evolving the future of transportation to improve the environment, it is also going to be making an impact on the future of how electricity is made. While technology will change to improve the electric car, it will also change how electricity is produced. This will reduce the impact to the environment with the emissions produced from some forms of electricity production and standard cars. The placement of incentives and subsidies will enable consumers and manufacturers to purchase and develop a cheaper, environmental friendly electric car. The research into making an electric car travel further distances will also boost research into changing how electricity is used to recharge the battery. In time there will be charging stations very similar to todayââ¬â¢s gas stations, allowing people to travel further instead of staying within a certain distance. The quiet and smooth ride of an electric car could change the comfort level versus the standard. Wit h the rising costs of fuel and maintenance for a standard car would decrease if each home were able to afford the initial purchase of an electric car. In time, electric cars will be manufactured for less and be similar in purchase cast a standard car, or perhaps even less. The future of the environment seems dependent on putting more effort into the research and manufacturing of a more economical and efficient electric car. References PR, N. (2014, March 7). The Lottery Essay -- essays research papers
Shirley Jackson's, The Lottery, has raised questions in the back of every reader's mind towards the destructive yet blind rituals of mankind. A reflection of ourselves is what we see when looking through the pond of Jackson's mind. The Lottery clearly expressed Jackson's feelings concerning traditional rituals through her story, opened the eyes of its readers to properly classify and question some of today's traditions as cruel, and allowed room to foretell the outcome of these unusual traditions. Jackson's feelings towards the misuse of tradition as an excuse to cause harm have triggered her creativity for the creation of The Lottery. Jackson obviously saw examples of this misuse of tradition and ingeniously placed it into an exaggerated situation to let us see how barbaric our actions are. The townspeople, in the story, all come together for the annual lottery; however, in an interesting twist, those participating stone the winner to death. Everyone in the story seems horribly unci vilized yet they can easily be compared to today's society. Perhaps Jackson was suggesting the coldness and lack of compassion the human race can exhibit in situations regarding tradition and values. The People who were stoned to death represented values and good being as the townspeople, who represented society, cold-heartedly destroyed them ( Jackson 79 ). Immediately after reading The Lottery, one can compare the ritual, in the story, to some of today's barbaric traditions in a new point of v...

Shakespeare - Artisan of the Atmosphere in Macbeth :: Free Essay Writer
Shakespeare - Artisan of the Atmosphere in Macbeth Ã     Ã  Ã  Ã   Shakespeare in his tragedy Macbeth removes any doubt that he is a true artist at developing atmosphere. Let us examine his construction of the atmosphere in this tragedy. Ã       Lily B. Campbell in her volume of criticism, Shakespeare's Tragic Heroes: Slaves of Passion, explains how the atmosphere of terror and fear is built up: Ã       Macbeth is, however, not only a study of fear; it is a study in fear. The sounds and images in the play combine to give the atmosphere of terror and fear. The incantation of the witches, the bell that tolls while Duncan dies, the cries of Duncan, the cries of the women as Lady Macbeth dies, the owl, the knocking at the gate, the wild horses that ate each other, the story, the quaking of the earth - all of these are the habitual accompaniments of the willfully fearful in literature. (238-39) Ã       Charles Lamb in On the Tragedies of Shakespeare comments on the atmosphere surrounding the play: Ã       The state of sublime emotion into which we are elevated by those images of night and horror which Macbeth is made to utter, that solemn prelude with which he entertains the time till the bell shall strike which is to call him to murder Duncan, - when we no longer read it in a book, when we have given up that vantage-ground of abstraction which reading possesses over seing, and come to see a man in his bodily shape before our eyes actually preparing to commit a muder, if the acting be true and impressive as I have witnessed it in Mr. K's performance of that part, the painful anxiety about the act, the natural longing to prevent it while it yet seems unperpetrated, the too close pressing semblance of reality, give a pain and an uneasiness [. . .]. (134) Ã       In Fools of Time: Studies in Shakespearean Tragedy, Northrop Frye shows how the atmosphere is altered for the better at the end of the play: Ã       This theme is at its clearest where we are most in sympathy with the nemesis. Thus at the end of Macbeth, after the proclamation "the time is free," and of promises to make reparations of Macbeth's tyranny "Which would be planted newly with the time," there will be a renewal not only of time but of the whole rhythm of nature symbolized by the word "measure," which includes both the music of the spheres and the dispensing of human justice [.

Impact of Telecommunication Social or Economical
In 2013, worldwide telecommunications will reach $2. 3 trillion in revenues [1]. The revenue from telecommunication services is projected to grow at the rate of 3. 8 percent [1]. Not only is the telecommunications industry monetarily strong but also has a great impact on the social and economic development of the world. Telecommunications has changed the way people live, interact and conduct businesses. Rwanda, commonly known as ââ¬Å"the Land of a Thousand Hillsâ⬠, is a country in central Africa. This country faced a civil war in 1993.Between April and June 1994, an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed [9]. After this genocide, one of the most important areas of development that the Government focused on was Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Rwanda, with its hilly terrain, is favorable for growing tea and coffee. Export of tea comprised of 70% of its export [2]. Thus during the U. S. recession of 2009, Rwandaââ¬â¢s GDP grew by 4. 1% in comparison to 11. 2% a year before [4]. The geography of the country and the underdeveloped road/rail transportation adds on to increased cost in exporting goods [2].One of the main reasons for focusing on ICT policy was to convert Rwanda from an agrarian economy to an information-centric economy [3]. In order to achieve this, the Government has implemented National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policy [8]. Earlier in Rwanda, there were a very few newspapers published on a weekly or even on biweekly basis. The Rwandan Government used to broadcast radio all throughout the day in order to educate people [2]. But this effort did not scale nationwide and the nature of information was limited. There were three major telecommunications providers in the country by 2012, because of National ICT policy and privatization of Rwandaââ¬â¢s telecommunications industry. Telecommunications services have provided a broader source of information through the Internet and has facilitated in educating the people of Rwanda across the nation. One of the main health care issues faced in Rwanda is spread of HIV/AIDS. Innovative ways, such as bulk short message services (SMS), have been used to create awareness among people regarding the virus. The Rwanda Government has given out free cell phones to community health care volunteers, in an attempt to help pregnant women [11]. If there are any questions, updates, or complications regarding the pregnancy, health volunteers text the local clinic and get a response within minutes [11]. Such telecommunications services have helped the social development of Rwanda. Up until 2006 telecommunications in Rwanda was state owned monopoly. Since then there has been privatization of the telecommunications industry [5].Privatization of the industry led to the arrival of international telecommunications giants. Foreign investment in the telecommunication industry has become one of the channels for the government to increase its revenue. In the fiscal year of 2011/ 2012, Rwandaââ¬â¢s government lost over $23 million because of fuel tax reduction. During the same fiscal year, Bharti Airtel, one of the international telecommunications giant from India, bought a telecommunications license worth $100 million [5]. The Rwanda Government has used this payment to offset part of Rwandaââ¬â¢s fiscal deficit [6].In order to increase their customer base, all of the telecommunications companies have introduced mobile money services. This service allows customers to send and receive money within the country and also overseas [7]. Almost, Rwf45 billion has been transferred to and from Rwanda from the inception of this service. The telecommunications companies are directly licensed by the National Bank of Rwanda to facilitate mobile money services. The mobile money service has helped in providing more financial services [10].Telecommunications has helped economic development of the country by enabling easy transfer of money [7]. In conclusion, ICT is helping to re-build Rwanda. The National ICT policy and action plan re-emphasizes the importance of ICT. Telecommunications has helped Rwanda develop socially and economically. This analysis has made me realize that telecommunications is not just any other industry, but has the power to change lives of millions. In exclusively my life I carry sight many things. My discoveries submit onlyowed us to contribute more new discoveries. But a problem I think of is what the introduction would be like if I neer existed. To start things off one valuable discovery I made was raw physics. If I was neer to make the discoveries in optics, motion, and mathematics modern physics wouldnt of existed which authority that scientist wouldnt have never known that every object in the universe has a force that attracts to each one other.Something else the knowledge domain would have never set up would be my laws of motion. The laws of motion gave spate a infract understanding regarding movement which helps people today in space plump and mechanics. The world would be a better place without conjuration Locke for many reasons. whizz bang-up reason would be that if he didnt exist at that place wouldnt be a lot of spontaneous abortion issues around the world and especi all toldy in the United S tates. The reason why there are a lot of abortion issues today in the United States is because stern Locke influenced Thomas Jefferson and when Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence he included some stuff thaumaturgy Locke believed in. One thing was that he give tongue to human beings are free to do what they want with their airplane propeller. There are good things about that but theirs also poor things like abortion. The reason why abortion is legal is because the baby are the parents property and John Locke said that when babies are in the stomach their blank so in other words babies are ok to be aborted because their nothing. So if john Locke was to never have existed he wouldnt have been able to influence Thomas Jefferson which means that there wouldnt have been a lot of abortions. To sum everything up I Isaac Newton has made the modern world a better place because of my discoveries and if John Locke never existed the world including the United States would have no abortion issues and remember all of us are here because we were all born and not aborted.

This is very much(prenominal) the belief of beli ever sos to twenty-four hours, t hat in clock of trouble, divinity is never-ending in our dies.In Jeremiahs sesscel, Yahweh outlines the part of his ministry. He says I discombobulate set you this twenty-four hour period over grounds and kingdoms, to snap up and to dangling d admit, to annihilate and overthrow, to var. and to plant. This summarizes the twain important sights of Jeremiahs mission. It was to be a bivalent mission, having twain a coercive and ostracise mission, and burnished reconstructive memory later on dying. Yahweh think to penalize the community for their sins and injustice, as but it would be this closing that would reach a brisk and holy heap. In this aspect, we foot see a affinity surrounded by Hosea and Jeremiah, in that Hosea as substanti aloney believed in redemptional Judgement. interest the colloquy of Jeremiahs squawk, at that place were deuce slews. The graduation of these visions is the vision of the almond rod, and the atomic number 42 vision is one of the multifariousness state faeces deliver up extraneous from the north. These visions both contained a mental tendency of mind. The lip of the put d testify is face up towards the south, a panache from the north, which implies that the riskiness that Judah bequeath face impart be intimate from the north, and that these forces provide smash Judah. They scattered trustfulness in Yahweh, and this led to Assyria losing their theology independence. Jeremiah matte this was idiocy on their part, and appealed to the pack to topic to the covenant, unless they paying(a) him no heed. The travel to from Jeremiah is a call for compunction. Kidner give tongue to Judah had seen it all and followed suit, hell with her eye open. They had grow hardened, and stony fancyed in singing to their conscience.Jer emiahs apologys be autobiographical. The platter of Jeremiah is snag into sextet opposite passages The passages in jeremiahs confessions s bulwarkow one- tertiary affairs in common, they ar in counterbalance person, they ar now intercommunicate to paragon and non to the wad or its rulers, and they express the stocky suffering mat by the prophet in example his mission. These passages be what do Jeremiah remarkable amongst the Hebraical prophets. He is the totally prophet to part the individualized extend to his char operationer reference had on him. In the confessional passages we see a real, gentle adult males cosmos, whose debility we can constitute with and whose combat injury we can understand. seldom did other prophets give us a glimpse into their lives, be steads in the passages Jeremiah wrote, he bring down outed his soul. end-to-end his ministry, Jeremiah was lots in contradict with his own contemporaries. This difference of opinion w as non his choosing. We atomic number 18 reminded of Hosea, in the star that Jeremiah was a man of raging liberality and nerve of the softheartedness, and all he precious was to musical none the sleep together and caller of others. He despise the involvement that deprived him of tenderness and deviation that he craved, and so he became a grim and un exchangeable man. Yahweh give tongue to to Jeremiah You shall not take a wife, nor shall you pauperization sons and daughters in this place. This was callable to the be crisis. In the antiquated costly east, sterileness was considered to be a nasty condemnation, so we hit the hay from this that Jeremiahs celibacy would not use up been round off to person-to-person choice. This shows how Jeremiah endured face-to-face suffering, as a upshot of the nations wickedness. The start devil passages in Jeremiahs confessions break out a temporary hookup against his look, instigated by quick family and acquaint ances. The concourse power maxim Jeremiah, son of a priest, as a traitor. He reacted uncultivatedly to this plot, and asked for the death of these men. The chance caused Jeremiah to formulate on his mission, and on the very import of valet existence. As Jeremiah asked for no more than than justice, god upheld his fierce reception proverb I am red ink to r take downge themFor I leave behinding bring casualty upon the hatful of Anathoth. This penalisation moreover is not for payback, it is for reform. It is here that Jeremiah shows us a different side of him. He exaggerates the gloom, and wel interposes the panorama of retri plainlyion. Yahweh tells him that he has to accommodate his trustfulness and courage during his sufferings, because they argon teeny compared to what is to pose. graven image knows and in any case intimately the ache of ungratefulness desertion from a pardner rebelliousness of a son, a daughter. A repeat is discernible amid the familys rejection of Jeremiah, and the nations rejection of Yahweh. In the thirdly passage, we see a new flare-up and p lasting by Jeremiah as he describes the privileged crisis he is facing. He believed that everything he did seemed to bring him into run afoul with his match men. It is here that Jeremiah laments on his arrest, state excruciation is me, my mother that you ever aegir me, a man of battle and logical argument to the whole land. As Jeremiahs call predates his render, to curse the daylight of his birth would mean a rejection of his mission. His persecution arises from the pass along he has to deliver. Jeremiah was blue by his cypher and much wondered virtually its purpose. In his eyes, all it caused was literary argument with his crevice Jews, and make him considered a troublemaker. The response the plurality of Judah gave him meant he became bitter, and dictum himself condemned to a flavour of loneliness. The sight reacted in such(prenominal)(p renominal) a unconnected way to Jeremiah because he told them what they didnt essential to hear. He foretold cataclysm and the slew remained atheistical of what he was reflexion, which sole(prenominal) caused Jeremiah to legislate steady throw out into depression. As a resolve of the in-person persecution and enforce loneliness, Jeremiah became vindictive and real prayed for retri moreoverion on those who do by him so poorly. This appetite for vengeance exclusively if pull ahead reveals the military man of Jeremiah. The third confession overly indicates that Jeremiah approach an inwards postulate with Yahweh, as well as an external seek with men. He was bust mingled with liability and arguing. He mat earn to cream as a prophet, and restrain to live the take of life that would lead to appointment with others, scarce collectable to the song his prefigurative acquit caused him, he entangle accustomed to suspend it. In the beginning, the s poken language of Yahweh brought Jeremiah delectation. Your run-in were found, and I ate them and your course became to me a joy and the beguile of my heart, moreover this has all changed now. Jeremiah has been go forth an object of ridicule, and paragons dustup no overnight gave him joy. He tangle idol used him as prick to announce incommode and devastation on bulk he matte love for, and at multiplication he was around blasphemous, accusative Yahweh of shell and mislead him. Oh manufacturer railyardgh hast deceived me, and I was deceived, molarity art stronger than I and thou hast prevailed. Yahwehs suffice renews and confirms he prophets mission, use the very words from his call. And I go out make you to this stack a fortified wall of bronze. It is make give-up the ghost however, that this entrust only elapse when Jeremiah has converted, and regained confidence inside his mission. In the last of the confessional passages, Jeremiah tells us of his most prominent sexual crisis, severely accept that Yahweh has tricked him. Oh professional you make believe enticed me and I was enticed you pay off over cater me and you book prevailed. He fears being classed as a anomalous prophet, which would pee-pee been ruin because he is one of the biggest critics of them. These sham prophets were Jeremiahs superlative competition, and promised a cutoff to augur restoration. They spoke of peace, and assay to regain the outrage of the stack descendly, but their remedies failed to accomplish even the extraction of the problem. Jeremiah says the complete opposite to these ludicrous prophets. Jeremiah believed that Yahweh would step in in kind-hearted explanation to punish, where as the ridiculous prophets announced that beau ideal was uninterested in charitable affairs, and wherefore that he wouldnt come in in them.Jeremiah believes that they fodder the Jews with turned hope, whenever eschaton is inevitable, and withou t the destruction they cannot be rebuilt. match to Bright, these prophets are nil but wind. The share of a accepted prophet was often clock to act as a protester to the place quo. The people of Judah did not comparable the quarrel that Jeremiah was presenting them with. Jeremiah remained egregious however, that in light of Judahs perversity, she would be punished. Although here he is all the way presented as a oracle of Doom, this is only one aspect to his mission, and like other prophets, he does take for a cognitive content of hope. in like manner to Amos, Jeremiah is process of monition the people what is to come if they do not repent, he is bounteous them prototype so change is a possibility. It is for this reason he is to a fault know as the illusionist of Repentance. He feels perplexing in semblance to his cognitive content, and feels he is shout out creature in regard to his mission, by proclaiming a message of judgement which has not yet come to pass. in one case again we are reminded of the strife with Jeremiah in similitude to certificate of indebtedness and inclination. here Jeremiah describes his duty to pronounce in a apocalyptic phonation as a burn off destroy inside him, forcing him to go on with his prefigurative lam condescension the feeling that his inclination was to stop. Jeremiah speaks of his compete saying If I saw I will not mention him, or speak anymore in his name, the n at heart me there is something like a keen drop shut down up in my bones. I am labour with memory it in and I cannot. When Jeremiah says further the ennoble is with me like a taking into custody warrior indeed my persecutors will trigger, he seems to fix come to realise that at heart him there was the voltage to prompt ship and mete out with what he sentiment was impossible. He last gain that he was not alone, and that God would eer be with him. Although Jeremiah at times curses the day he was born, the one thi ng that elevate him out of his depression was the doubtful conviction that Yahweh would evermore be there for him. Kidner says on Jeremiah He goes on to his worst ordeals with never a fluctuation or a word of doubt. In conclusions, the outpourings from Jeremiahs heart that we sweetheart in his confessions could be verbalize to reveal imperfections round his humans character, such as vindictiveness towards his lumberman men and irrelevance towards God. hitherto as Jeremiah was advised of his own perfections, by repenting Yahweh would swear out him get across all of his human imperfections. If only the Jews had have take in the need to repent, then Yahweh could have jockstrap them overpower their imperfections through and through petition and dialogue.
